Publications
Cedefop has grouped together comprehensive information and data on VET.
Thematic overviews
Thematic overviews are prepared and updated by ReferNet, Cedefop's network of nationally- based consortia. They describe the main features of the VET systems in each Member State plus Norway and Iceland using a common structure that allows transversal extractions of information across countries.
EU level reports
Developments in the field of vocational education and training (VET) in Member States and in acceding and candidate countries
These notes have been prepared by Cedefop as background information for the meetings of the Directors General for Vocational Training (DGVT). They are based primarily on information received from members of Cedefop's ReferNet and the National Observatories (NOs), established by the European Training Foundation (ETF) and in particular their contributions to Cedefop Info.
Online databases
Cedefop's Library, Documentation and Archives Service is collecting and disseminating information about vocational education and training (VET) in the European Union, both from the Member States and from European and international organisations, since the Centre was founded in 1975 (About Cedefop). A diversity of methodologies and diffusion tools are used in parallel: bibliographical databases, databases of institutions, documentary dossiers, online information retrieval, etc. and over the years a variety of user-friendly technologies have been introduced to facilitate the work.
Short descriptions of the vocational education and training systems in the EU Member States
The short descriptions of the VET systems in the EU Member States are produced for the countries holding the EU-Council presidency by the ReferNet team of the respective country in close cooperation with CEDEFOP. They follow the thematic overviews, but give priority to policy and development issues rather than to more descriptive information on the system?s operation. Further information on certain aspects of VET provide the detailed thematic analyses.
